arr Nizamuddin 2:40p, dep DEL domestic 6:05p?

Of course 3.5 hours is enough time, but I don't know how late the Dehradun-Nizamuddin AC Special will be. It is scheduled to take the same time as the Shatabdi and Janshatabdi (which are not very fast on this route). According to this thread, this train tends to be late.

How long should a taxi take from Nizamuddin to DEL domestic, given Delhi's unpredictable traffic? Is 1 hour enough? If the train arrives at 4pm, should we still be able to make it?

As far as I know the Railways have no web page showing actual arrival times. If you know of one, please let me know and I will monitor it.

yes one hour should be enough, the traffic is not that unpredictable now. ..barring few sections..

From Nizamuddin, either the cab can go towards the outer ring road, then to Vasant Kunj side and finaly at the airport..

or simply they can take the ring road to Dhaula Kua and from there Domestic Airport is 10-20 minutes, even in peak hours..

vehicles actualy blazes on Delhi's ring roads now..they are very very fast..(as compared to 5 years back)..

I'm not sure how reliable it is, there was an article in a Chandigarh newspaper last week about invisable trains, they found 2 trains on the above website that no longer run.

But I've not heard anyone saying the website is unreliable, so give it a try.

Let us know how you find the website.

Agree with shashank, except that I would stay on the ring road (and not via Vasant Kunj) for the domestic terminal. It is quite fast.

And I would be more comfortable with a calculated travel time of 75 mins.

well Ideally it should not take more than 35 minutes..other 25 minutes were for the buffer..

but you are the captain..

One last question. Ring Road, or Mathura Road to Outer Ring Road? I admit I don't know that area at all. On the map, Outer Ring Road looks like a bigger road.

Seemed to work fine. By manually editing the URL I was able to go back about six days to see recent history; before that it said "no data". Indeed, as you suggested in another thread, this train (the DDN-NZM AC Spl) tends to run late, but never more than 1 hour (within the past six days).

I once used the site while on the road and it told me that my train was three hours late - it was on time three hours later when I arrived at the station. Made me wary of the information on that site.

Interesting.

There is a telephone number that can be used to check if trains are running late.

There used to be different telephone numbers for different areas, but I believe Indian Railways are trying to get the same number for all of India, I don't know if they have achieved this yet.

The number is 139

Has anyone used this number, and is it reliable?

Have used it several times, sometimes late in night it does'nt get answered...

information is provided by human on the other end and I always like to call 2-3 times to make sure that I corss check it again..it has always been same & correct information in my case..
(this is case if the person telles me train is running late, it I am told that it is on time, I simply go to the station.).
