Any suggestions for Pune-Delhi-Pune trip?

Hi friends

We (family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 children 9 & 14) are thinking of a trip from Pune to Delhi and back (including Jaipur and Agra) from Dec 25, 2009 to Jan 3, 2010.

I need your advice on the following:
1. Is this enough time to visit (7 days excluding the travel)?
2. Will this time be appropriate in terms of prices considering Dec 31st?
2. Places to visit - enroute & near around Delhi
3. Places to stay in the suggested places
4. Road conditions (I plan to take the NH8 route)
5. Climate (will it be too cold?)
6. Please suggest an iterinary.
7. Best time to visit Taj Mahal (I heard they allow a night visit too).

1. 7 Days are sufficient for Delhi, Agra & Jaipur.
2. Mid Range hotels have consistent rates all round the year.
3. It's a very general question, there are numerous places, what's your interest ?
4. What's your budget ? Mid Priced Places are around 1000-1500.
5. No idea about Pune - Delhi road condition... (may check on Team BHP form)
6. Yes, It'll be cold for a Puneite, carry warm clothing.
7. You'll have to form a rough/draft itinerary yourself, IMers will fine tune it..
8. Night Visit to Taj Mahal is on full moon night and two days before and after it. In December it will be open on 29,30,31 and In January on 1st & 2nd. May plan accordingly. Night viewing tickets need to be booked one day in advance.

Its more than enough if you are essentially only looking at sightseeing in Delhi and a trip to Agra...
