An Earthquake Just rocked Delhi !!

I have just been startled out of my sleep by an earthquake. It was hardly 5 minutes before the time of this posting and in few minutes the reports will start pouring in.

It rocked once and came back after couple of second.

Are you OK? Was it big enough to break things?

Nothing on earthquakes at google news pertaining to India yet .... although there has been other seismic activity around the world today. I'm sure something will surface about it soon.

<update: the Times of India link has appeared>

I hope your home is OK. Is it car-alarm central outside?

Shashank

I presume (hope) you are OK. Hopefully there is little damage! I remember the Koyna earthquake in 1967.

Hope you sleep well. Earthquakes freak me out, but is good to have this web info so you can assess the danger.

This one was quite strong and definitely jolted me right out of sleep. I woke up thinking my bed was on wheels because it was shaking so hard. Glad it passed after not too long.

Hope all are well. I read about it in Times of India this morning. Mr K and I were in the 13th floor of Indrapastha Hotel (used to be Ashok Yatri Niwas) in Janpath on 26 Jan day of terrible Gujrat earthquake and the building was literally swaying like a pendulum. First I noticed the fan starting and I thought Mr K had switched it on. But no, it was the earthquake.
Very scary... Bed shaking by itself also frightening, Tapestry.

Wow! Looks like you guys are all ok, if, literally, shaken.

I've never had this experience, and can well do without it. I understand it is possible to happen here though .
