Advice me for 2 and half Day Stay at Delhi

Dear Friends,
We are reaching Delhi (from Kumaun) on 21st December 2009 Morning and leaving Delhi on 23rd December 2009 Midday. Here is draft plan of my travel:
21 December- Arrive at Old Delhi (DLI) RS in early morning by Ranikhet Express.

Full day Travel at Delhi
Night stay at Delhi

22 December- Plan to Day visit for Agra (Morning Train to Agra (Bhopal Shatabdi) and evening back to H Nizamuddin (NZM) RS (Chhattisgrah Exp) (Tickets are confirmed)
Night stay at Delhi

23 December- Train form New Delhi RS to Kolkata (Delhi-Shiyaldah Rajdhani Exp)

I know it will be a very hectic plan. We are used to such ones:-)
I want to know following things regrading this trip:-

1. What will be the best location of hotel at Delhi for my trip ? (because we are going to use three railway stations - Delhi RS, New Delhi RS and H Nizamuddin RS.)

2. Can any one advice me for a good (I mean economy as well as safe) hotel at the specified location?

My Recommendation/Suggestions.
1) You could stay at Hotel Ginger in New Delhi. It will cost around Rs 1000 for a double Room. It is also bang outside the Metro station of the New Delhi Railway station. From the Old Delhi station you could take a cycle rick to the closes metro station(Don't know which One) and from there easily take a metro to New Delhi Station. The Hotel is fairly decent. I myself recently stayed in the Hotel.

3)One thing you must remember is that you will be in Delhi in December end. Delhi is notorious for its fog during the said time. Train often get late due to heavy fog at this time. Please do keep a buffer for delays fue to fog.

4) You can probably take a days tour to Agra from Delhi. They even cover Mathura and some even cover Fathepur Sikhri. There are loads of Travel Companies offering such tours in Karol Bagh/CP. Couple of that comes to my mind right know is Southern Travels/Panickar Travels.

Let me know if you need any more details. But yes your plan is a bit cramped. Also let me know if you have any special interest while touring like Food/Historical Monnuments/Shopping so that i can give more info if you need it.

I found (over their website) that there is no available room at Ginger.
Any other suggestion ?

hotel ginger is great. have stayed there twice. very comfortable and safe place to stay

I Guess it is just that booking has not yet open for that time. You could try the same in the 1st week of November.
