Accomodations near Nizamuddin (< Rps1.500)
Hello,
Have anyone of you tried the last years an accomodation in the neighbour of Nizamuddin? We are 2 adults and 2 kids wishing to share the same room, only the night of our flight arrival into Delhi and before moving by train to Agra. So we are looking for a clean and basic room and not too noisy. I have read good reports about Carrowen B&B - Guesthouse but they do not reply to emails and I have found no phone numbers so I wonder it they still exist? I was trying to find their new phone number after all Delhi (India?) has changed the phone numbering system (11 digits now) but was not able to find a complete yellow pages for Delhi on the internet, any idea? Thanks a lot, Christophe |

Hello Christophe and welcome to indiamike.com
I don't know if you're staying near Nizamuddin for easy access to the Taj Express (Train 2280). This train's journey will be extended sometime this year, and it will start from New Delhi station (next to Paharganj), I don't know if the train will still call at Nizamuddin station, and I don't know when this change will happen. If it does still call at Nizamuddin, it will be a quick stop, and getting on the train with a couple of kids will be a bit rushed, but still OK. Have a search on this website for 'Nizamuddin', I seem to remember a post about some really good music event that takes place next to Nizamuddin every thursday or friday evening, it should be fun for the kids. |

There are quite a few hotels near Nizamuddin on the main road.
Steven, the music is at the Dargah of Nizamuddin on Thursdays and it is Sufi music so may not be fun for the kids. |

Actually we plan more on an afternoon train, the 2412 or the 2190. But the other reasons for Nizamuddin is the quieteness and proximity to Lotus Temple and Humayun Tomb.
If someone out there has a track of Carrowen phone number that would be great. Or similar guest houses in the same neighbour... jyotirmoy could you give some examples/names of such hotels on the main Road? Thanks again Christophe |

Vikram hotel and Lodhi hotel are far above 3.000Rps per night.
The phone number for Carrowen is not correct... Yellow pages for Delhi that gives all phone numbers of businesses, is it something available on internet? Thanks, Christophe |
