A flying weekend near Delhi....

I wonder if any of you have heard of the Damadama lake area near the foothills of the Aravali's - about an hour from Delhi? Well, it's an ideal destination for us group of aeromodelers who go there every weekend to fly our model aircraft. There is a beautiful (private) botanical garden called Botanix that we go to and it is now open to the public for about Rs100/- per head for the day. It is spread over 60 acres of the most beautifully landscaped gardens, exotic plants and adventure activities. I am attching a few pictures from our trip out from yesterday along with an article that came out in the washington post in USA about our flying at Damdama...

thanks for sharing these beauties. they brought back fond memories of weekends spent out at the RC flying field with my dad back in the 60s. (it's always fun 'til it's pile of balsa wood, isn't it?)

Hi, the planes you see in the above pictures are electric powered since this field is not that large to accomodate larger glow fuel models(nitro+methanol). We do the glow and gasoline planes in another larger field (see pic below)and we mix our own fuel(5%/10% for aircraft and 15%/20% for RC cars and boats) and it is readily available here.

Cheers
