9 hours in Delhi - what to do

We will be arriving at Delhi airport on an internal flight at about 4PM on a Weds.; our international flight home is at 1 AM, Thurs. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions on what we can do to fill the time between flights. We will have a driver available. This will be at the end of our trip, we will have been in Delhi for a day in the beginning of the trip.

Thank you

best option, go to gurgaon, near airport. south ex or cp would be too far off n u'll spend time traveling.
lotsa malls n restros/pubs/discs there. shop a bit, party a bit. last chance and crave are good options. for malls, centrestage is cool. 9 hours aint enuf even to get a wiff of the delhi culture

Weeell.....even taking into account drive times and getting into/out of airports you've still got about 5 hours or so.

You could eat at the revolving restaurant in CP! Food is supposedly average, but panoramic Delhi views make up for it I expect. There are plenty of restaurants around CP too. Then if it's dark take a trip round India Gate and the Lakshmi Narayan temple, both look great all lit up. I'm sure some Delhi dwellers will have even more restaurant and club names to throw at you soon!

Tell me about this revolving restaurant at CP. We were in Delhi Nov. 06 & didn't know about this.

You don't really have 9 hours--as already mentioned you have about 5 hours to play with, at most. It's a long ride into town (CP) & back and you probably need to check in at least 2 hours before your flight.

All the sights will be closed (I think) & most of the shops, though someone mentioned malls to wander around in.

It's really hard to know what to recommend. Maybe a drive into town, a nice meal, and what already has been recommended.

Sorry, don't have much to offer, but do want to hear more about the revolving restaurant--like it's name and where in CP it's located (for nextime we're there!)

Oh, & have a good flight back to NJ!

I'd also like to know about the revolving restaurant, because I'll be back in Delhi in December.

There is a revolving restaurant in CP which is called as "Parikrama". The restaurant revolves itslef. In simpler terms, the complete floor where you sit and dine will be revolving slowly while you enjoy the delicious food there. Amazing ??? Try it out. Ask anyone in CP, where lies the "Parikrama Restaurant", and anyone would be able to tell you.

Thanks

Here's a site with someone's pictures of the restaurant and views. I'm adding this to my list of things to do on my next trip!

Visit Humayun's tomb, maybe a good book shop @ Khan Market, don't miss dinner on the patio at the Imperial Hotel, then browse their world class museum of 18th and 19th century paintings, lithographs, & sculptures distributed throughout the hotel ..... then head to the Delhi zoo(I mean airport)!

<As Karuna rightly points out - you only have 5-5.5 hrs of actual sightseeing/visiting time. Enjoy!>

If you're lucky you might run into Julie Andrews and a bunch of kids wearing curtains.
