8 hours in delhi
I will be arriving in Delhi from Leh on 4th of September at 8 in the morning. Will be taking the Rajdhahi from New Delhi railway station at 430 in the evening to Mumbai. How can I make the most of the 8 hours i spend in delhi. Had a look at the city map and found Red fort and India Gate quite close by to NDLS. Please suggest considering the distance from the domestic airport to NDLS... this is my first time to Delhi

If you scroll to the bottom of this page, you'll find a listing of "similar threads." Opening any of those will again feature a list of similar threads at bottom, and so on and so forth. It's an easy way to navigate the site, and it looks like you'll find something there.
I'm not sure about India Gate (not much of a sight anyway if you ask me, but I understand how it might have a historical meaning to some), but the Red Fort is not very far from NDLS (New Delhi Railway Station), no. Probably less than a half-hour's walk (if unencumbered by luggage), or a short ride. I'm not sure what you mean by 4:30 in the evening -- is that 04:30 in the AM, or 16:30 in the PM? (I guess the latter, going by your eight hours.) In either case, I think it should leave you with some time for a little sightseeing yes. Just obviously break up in time no matter what you're doing to meet that train. I think a bit of exploring of Old Delhi and/or Connaught Place/Janpath and surroundings (a similar distance going the other way) should be well-doable yes, and should put you close enough to NDLS in case you get in a hurry. Allow for something like a half hour by wheels to get there coming from either end, and take the extra finding your bearings and boarding time into account. So to be on the safe side, I'd count on something like 1-1.5 hours, conservatively, but I find being conservative and hanging around a station some and grabbing a snack or going for a short walk or so a lot better than missing my connection. I'm thinking Raj Ghat and Feroz Shah Kotla are also not terribly far from here.
