The International Toilet Museum. Don't laugh, I'm serious. It truly is worth a visit. They have toilet systems dating back to 2500 BC. Entry is free and you get a guided tour.

I've lived here for 3 yrs, still feel like I've only scratched the surface! It helps to read up on the history of Delhi, the longer you have, the more in depth and rich the experience. Understand the history and the place comes alive. Also there are a wealth of cultural events and institutions. Go beyond superficial monuments and tourist sites and you'll find one of the most vibrant cities in India. Seriously, besides the Sulabh Toilet Museum, you'll find so many free art openings, drama and music performances, and great restaurants. Some places and things to see:
Anyways, singsub, IMHO having gone to Singapore, I think it merited my 6 hr stopover and visit to the great food markets...but not much more. ![]()

A walking tour of Chandni Chowk and adjoining lanes & bylanes of Old Delhi is an experience.
Near Qutab you can visit the tomb of Jamali Kamali inside a densely wooded park. The spice market at Khare bowli.... Rail museum in Chanyaka puri The list is practically endless. |

Thanks Tnog for thowing more Light...
to the OP : Delhi is among the Oldest cities in the world..most of its contemporary cities have ceased to exist..but somehow it lives on...even Old Delhi is not old enough to give the entire history of the city... It is popularly said that still there are unexplored things to Delhi..history lives in every lane of the city..go explore.. There are 172 monuments of Historical Importance spread across Delhi, and they 'Listed' ones.. Check this out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Delhi |

Delhi is well worth 6 days and longer. I am always faszinated when I am in the Capital and usually moan my lack of time.
Nice to see if you are interested in History is the Kashmir Gate area with loads of old monuments of the British. Humayun's Tomb is one of my favourite, a must-see. Nice in combination with Safdarjungs Tomb as the first is the oldest Moghul monument of Delhi and the latter one of the youngest. Keep and eye on the changed building style. Nice is an afternoon stroll in the Lodi Gardens, relax and see the tombs and monuments. With some luck you can spot many interesting birds. Nice for shopping is the Khan Market. Museums well worth a visit are the National Museum (loads of old stuff, however it can be confusing finding everything) and the teen Murti House or Nehru Memorial Museum. Great house, lots of old photographs, newspaper articles about the freedom movement, plus an interesting planetarium in the garden. Another not much visited place is the Purana Qila. If you have time, rent a boat at the lake in front of it. ... |

6 days in Delhi is not too much.
To add to the list, the Son et Luminere at Red fort is, for me, a not to be missed show. Check the English timings. |

allow me to chime in with what may be the obvious . . . .
The good ol' TaJ is an easy day trip from Dilli hey, what if the poster didn't know? And . . . has anyone who visited the toilet museum, um . . . used the toilet?
