I have checked different sites about hotels and their reviews which are so conflicting, hence this request from Imikers.
A good hotel near Cannaught place, reasonably priced which you stayed recently and liked it? My wife and I are planning to visit Delhi in 1st wk of November for a wk. Any suggestions gratefully recieved. My wife used to live in Delhi and is now returning after 35 years! |

Hi Shrink
haven't replied to this earlier as I've only stayed in one Delhi hotel recently - which wasn't that close to Connaught Place plus it was a tad on the expensive side (especially since I was there for 3 months). But in that vein - one of the comments made to me by the hotel staff is that from now until March - its the high season - so rooms are at a premium. Don't know how much of a bargin you'll be able to get as a result, plus the priority may be ensuring you get a confirmed booking. Perhaps one of the other Delhi IMers can advise? |

The Hans Hotel is one 4- star option. Location is ideal ..... never stayed there though so can't comment on the rooms. There use to be a little sweet shop downstairs that was pretty tasty.

It's the Hans Plaza. We recommend it highly, but it gets booked in advance quickly.
Do a search here on IM - we've written about it here in several places. distaff half of hfot2 |

its the taj palace - about 10-15 minutes from connaught place. I've done a review of it here on IM, and while the service was great - the price....ouch! I'm sure there is bound to be something more experienced IMers can recommend, that is closer to connaught place for a much better price.

What do you think of these Delhi accommodations?
It's Hans Plaza - two words. An easy walk to CP and the metro station. Here's the link to one of the threads I was thinking of. |

Hello. Earlier this week, I stayed at the Park Hotel, about 10 minutes (if that) walk from CP. Room rate was 9000 rps per night. I'd got an early morning flight from Delhi the next morning, and thanks to a recent boost in earnings, thought I'd treat myself to somewhere a little classy for the night before. The room itself was lovely. Some elements of the service I felt didn't quite fall into an international 4*/ 5* hotel category, but maybe I just got unlucky.
