2.15am arrival in Delhi, Where to stay???
hello,
I will be arriving in Delhi in May 08 from OZ & arrive at 2.15am, I am looking for a 4 or 5 star hotel that will be open at that hour but as I have been looking I think I would prefer the Old Delhi area, 1st time in India & want the real deal & experience of India, Please any suggestions. I really appreciate your response. ![]() |

Kullukid is right, you wont get any there.....You could try for the Le Meridian which overlooks CP or maybe hotel Siddharth towards karol Bagh.
If you dont want to travel too much post getting in, there is always the Radisson which is very close to the airport.

you may want to book something in one of the 4-5 star hotels on the first night, then find something in old Delhi, down by the railway station after that.
The reason? Arriving at 2.15 am in the morning - it could be later (if the flight is delayed), and it could take some time to get through immigration, customs, baggage, etc. That time of the morning is a mini peak hour for international arrivals. Could be close to 4am before you're out. At that stage the last thing you'll want to do is find somewhere to sleep. Also booking a hotel means you can probably book a hotel pickup - which is one less thing to negotiate at 4am in the morning. Also - May is one of the hottest months of the year here - so an air conditioned ride to an air conditioned hotel at 4am can be your one night of pampering. After that - go find that Indian experience! good luck, and welcome to India Mike. |

I would also recommend the Radisson near the airport - it's really close and has a 24 hour restaurant. I was on business and stayed there not too long ago. If I wasn't on business, I don't think I could have afforded it!
Also, be sure to take the toiletries in the bathroom. That Radisson has an agreement with Biotique (http://biotique.com/home.jsp) so there are some lovely smelling goodies to stuff in your suitcase to use the rest of your trip. I'm cheap like that I'm also totally addicted to Biotique now and I only have the Radisson to blame!I don't think you'll find the real deal & experience of India at the Radisson though, but it's wicked cushy after a long haul flight ![]() |
