Question River rafting in sikkim/ darjeeling

Hi all,

Small query that i hope someone can help me with! We are 1 couple and will be in the region in May last week.
plan:
2 days darjeeling
2 days pelling or Yuksum
2 days borong in south sikkim

plus 1 day left for river rafting- which would be the best place among the above 3 locations to stay that extra day where we can easily book a river rafting package for the day?
Or perhaps we can do the river rafting while travelling between 2 of these places to reduce travel time?

do i need to do the booking before hand?

thanks!

Hi ,

You can do river water rafting in the Teesta river. You dont have to book in advance, but give a call and find out the current position.

Rafting Stretches on River Teesta
Makha and Rongpo : Makha and Rongpo strecth is propably the shortest run on the Teesta river, the trip will take around two and a half hours.

Dikchu and Teesta Bridge : This run is longer and more gruelling than Makha and Rongpo stretch.

Dikchu and Kali Johra (West Bengal) : A five day run, it starts from Sikkim and ends in Kali Johra located in West Bengal.

Bordang and Melli : Rafting between Borgand and Melli is another exciting option across Teesta river.

Check out the below link for advance booking or else you may contact them on arrival but its better to given them a call and find out the availability.

Have a great trip,
