How to go Varanasi from Darjeeling other than by train?

HI all

I am going Darjeeling for xmas and Varanasi for new year

I booked my train on IRCTC but I am on WL/12 FOREVER!

Now i am leaving my country tomorrow and I basicly give up the idea of taking the train

Is that possible for me to go Varanasi by bus?Where is it and price?Is it safe???

Welcome to Indiamike.
No it is not possible, no direct bus service.. you need to come to Kolkata from Varanasi and then you can travel to Darjeeling from here.

you booked the train from New Delhi ? You can still hope of getting the train. You should be checking 4 hours before the departure time. Chart is prepared at that time.
Alternately, foreigners have a special reserved quota for them in almost all trains. Booking for the same can be done from New Delhi Railway Station.
You can also consider flying. Bus is not an option.
If you can let me know the exact route of your travel, probably I can give some more information.

i am going from kalkotta to NJP to darjeeling to varansai

The north east exp's wl never move, so I booked another train 4055 BRAHMPUTRA MAIL just in case, which in on wl 2 now, which should be fine???

Also, Do i need to print out the confirmed letter of getting a seat at the station to get on the train or i just print out eticket even its wl??

hey
hmmm... so i suppose you are talking a train from Kolkata to New Jalpaiguri ? From NJP .. you will be hiring a cab ( avlb outside the station itself ) to go to darjeeling... which is around 3-4 hours away.
You will be coming back to NJP and taking a train to Varanasi.
If you want any info about train timings for the route.. let me know.
You dont need a new printout of the e-ticket. The old WL printout is enough. Just know your coach and seat no.
WL 2 ... you will surely get it confirmed by the time you are travelling. I think even Howrah station has a counter for seat reservation under foreigner quota. Check this : http://www.indianrail.gov.in/intert.html
