Honeymoon trip to Sikkim and Darjeeling in May

Hi all,

First thanks to post related to trips to sikkim and Darjeeling, i could gain lots of info. now i have almost decided on this itinerary. Please tell me if it is fine.

2 Nights at Darjeeling & 1 night at Lachung, 1 night at Lachen & 3 nights at Gangtok

Details:

Day 1 : Arrive Bagdogra/NJP Railway Station & transfer to Darjeeling. Over night at Darjeeling .

Day 2 : Early morning visit to Tiger Hill, Batasia loop & Ghoom Monastery. Later Half day [07 Points] sight seeing of Darjeeling. After noon visit to Rock Garden.Over night at Darjeeling.

Day 3: After Breakfast, enjoy a Toy Train Ride up to Ghoom & later transfer to Gangtok . Afternoon, Half Day sight seeing of Gangtok. Over night at Gangtok.

Day 4: Pick from Gangtok Hotel and transfer to Lachen. On the way visit Tashi view point, Kabi Longtsok, Seven sister’s water fall Singhik view point, Lunch on route and Overnight at Hotel.

Day 5: 5Early morning proceed to visit Gurudongmar Lake. Later Back to Hotel & transfer Lachung. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 6 : Excuriosn to Yumthang-Katao[Zero point]. Later transfer to Gangtok. Overnight at Hotel at Gangtok.

Day 7 : Tsogmo Lake & Baba Dham

Day 8: Check out from the Hotel & transfer to Bagdogra Airport/NJP Railway Station.

For this itenary i am aksed 39000 INR std accomodation. And i am told extra cost of 4500 if i want to visit Nathula pass also.

Exclusive vehicle for pick up and drop

Rs. 35,450/-
Rs. +3,500/- for TSomgo lake and Baba mandir
Rs +4500 for Nathula Pass

Please advise is this itinerary fine from honeymoon point of view? and is it value for money its costly? Please let me know if i am missing something. I was thinking of including pelling/yuskom for one night but i don't know what to skip from itinerary. Could you guys help? i need to finalize this by monday.

With all due respect for whoever planned this itinerary for you, do you really want to travel so much during your honeymoon? You don't get to relax a single day! It sounds more like a whirlwind tour of Sikkim/Darjeeling circuit covering as many places as possible in least possible time. My understanding (and I'm not married) is that honeymoon trips need to be a bit intimate, cozy trip to where ever you go with enough time for you and your better half to discover each other. People generally like to stay at 1 place all the time. But then this is just my opinion. Wish you have a great time!

I am not really convinced about the 7K quote for tsogmo (locally known as changu lake), baba mandir and nathu la pass. All these 3 places are usually covered in a single day excursion since they lie in the same direction.

When we had visited last june, we had asked quotes for a private jeep and it was around 2,300 - 2,500 for the whole day trip covering these three places. Not sure why the quote given by your agent is so high
