Getting from Varanasi to Darjeeling

Hi, Any advice on how to complete this journey with the least fuss would be greatly appreciated, rail preferred. Thanks. Ken

Take the train. If the trains from Varanasi are not fitting your schedule you can check for trains departing from Mughal Sarai. M.S. is a much larger train station. Take the train to New Jalpaiguri. N.J. is the starting place for the toy train upto Darjeeling. If you are not interested in the toy train they hire someone to drive you up. Make sure to do a search. There should be several previous threads with informations on getting from Varanasi to Darjeeling. Check the bottom of this page for some of the relevent threads.

Thanks, my mistake was looking for trains on the India Rail site from Varanasi and not Mughal Sarai. All is revealed now!

Yea, its a bit tricky. Actually, there are trains from Varanasi but I think the one to Darjeeling maybe runs 2 times a week or something along that line.
