Foreign Tourist Quota reservations in Darjeeling

Anyone know if its possible to book foreign tourist quota seats at the railway reservation center in Darjeeling. You can't do it at all stations, I would assume Darjeeling gets enough foreigners that it should be possible but just wanted to make sure. Need to book the Darjeeling Mail NJP to Calcutta using the tourist quota.

You Can't book FTQ tickets in Darjeeling, and I don't think you can at New Jalpaiguri either.

Good to know. I'll see if I can do it here in Guwahati which is my only other shot.

The computerized reservation office is outside Guwahati station, if you’re standing at the main entrance with your back towards the station, the reservation office is a little way up the road and on the right.

Go to see the reservation supervisor and ask about your options, there may be a foreign tourist window, but that doesn't necessarily mean they can issue foreign tourist quota tickets, but the reservation supervisor may request you to buy a waitlisted ticket for the same train, then he may put you on the FTQ, he may need an authorisation code to do this, he would get the code from the head office, but he doesn't have to do this, so be very polite and ready to play the 'poor confused foreign tourist' routine if need be.

Thanks there is a Foreign tourist window in Guwahati and they can issue FTQ tickets, for future reference.

Yes. FTQ tickets are issued from counter no. 1 of Guwahati PRS office. The same counter also issues tickets for Railway pass holders, Freedom fighters, Journos, Handicapped, NRI's, Patients quota.
