Darjeeling/Pedong questions

Hi!

My wife and I are considering relocating to Pedong, or somewhere nearby, in order to work with an orphanage we are affiliated with, or possibly to start our own/expand the existing one.

I have a few basic questions. We have 1 and 2 year old sons, and were wondering if this is considered a safe place for Americans. Are Americans liked and well-treated here?

I make my living on the internet. Is it possible to get reliable internet service?

We are Christian. Is there any sort of anti-Christian prejudice or that sort of thing?

There is very little prejudice in India generally for any religion, unlike in the west.
There are a lot more christians in Shillong and surrounds than Darjeeling, and I would have thought a greater need to have an orphanage.

Conversion though , is a contentious issue.

The Internet thing is nothing like the west in out of the way places. Even the fast places are slow.

In Darjeeling, there is broadband, but the constant power failures make it a difficult occupation.
