Darjeeling, no trekking

Hi, we are planning to visit Darjeeling. We were thinking to stay 2 days in Kolkata, then take plane to Bagdogra, then get to Darjeeling and stay there 2 or 3 days. What is your suggestion? Is it enough just for a short stay? thank you

If you just want to see Darjeeling 2-3 days is fine. There are other places also near by Kalimpong, Kurseong, Mirki etc. If you want to see those places you will require at least 7 days.

For alternative ways to reach Darjeeling

I agree with above post. Dont miss the ride on the world famous Toy Train. The orignal Toy train leaves Darjeeling everyday to Kurseong 4 hrs, but you can get off after 20 mins at Ghoom the highest point (7000 ft ) and stroll back to Darj. Perhaps you may consider a trip to Gangtok Sikkim which is a beautiful scenic drive of about 5 1/2 hrs. What time of the year are you going? Hope your lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the 3rd highest mountain in the world Kanchenjunga,

Hi, we wiil go also to Djarleeling. We think to stay a couple of days, but they will be just in the moonson, anybody have any recomendation about any activitie to do?
About the toy train I have a doubt, If I`m not wrong there are two; one from NJP to Djarleeling and other from Djarleeling to Kalinpong, any preference between these two ?

There is only ONE Toy Train which goes to Darjeeling. There are NO trains that go to Kalingpong. I think you are confused with the town of KURSEONG which is en-routs to Darjeeling. Trust me. I used to go to school in Darjeeling...by Toy Train !
