Darjeeling in October
morning/afternoon/evening
i'm gonna be in kurseong on the 8th of october, and darjeeling on the 9th and 10th. is this the high season touristwise? should i book hotels in advance, or will i be ok just turning up and having a barter? also, any hotel/guesthouse suggestions? 1000rs max budget, 7-800 preferable. have heard hotel alice villa is good but they won't take bookings over the phone (you have to send a money transfer - no thanks). thanks J |

I think these dates are just prior to the Puja holiays, so I guess you can get hotel bookings on arrival. In Kurseong try the Tourist Lodge. You can get the 'Orignal' Toy Train to Darjeeling a journey of 4 hrs. which starts it's return to Darjeeling from Kurseong.
Happy Travels.
