Best time to visit Darjeeling?

I love hill stations and planning to visit Darajeeling so please suggest me the best time and places to visit in Darjeeling?

the story that i heard in kalimpong said that when the english decided to build a sanatorium for their soldiers from bengal they visited darjeeling twice, once in march and then again in september/october....they fell in love with the climate and the weather and the rest is history....

but there was a rub. the other 10 months were either rainy, damp, overcast or cold and that led to a very high number of suicides among the patients. not knowing what to do with the place, the ingenious brits turned it into a giant tea plantation.....and the rest is also history...

i was there for about 3 weeks in july and it was rainy and completely overcast, with the exception of one day..... the pubs were quite nice though ...and that was good, since many of the roads were closed due to landslides..

In my opinion pack your bag as early as possible within February........you'll get clear sky and best Mt. K.........here is a very recent last week photograph:

hows late may, early june?

hills are best in season to season in my personal test ...............well may june not so bad atall.........expect short spells of shower in afternoon.........visibility'l l be low due to humidity in air...........i'm a damn fool predicting nature about himalaya
