Thailand is perfectly safe, and it is very easy to find your way around. No need to book with a tour operator - just book a flight and go! You'll easily meet other travellers when you're there.

It can be a bit more unsafe, if one is planning on an encore. But, as you are going there for the first time, you should be OK.
![]() Btw, As Mickey points out, It is quite easy to find your way around. A couple of hours on Thorn tree might give you a better idea on Places to see, etc. |
