Hi Nepal travellers,

has anyone seen Uemit Aslim from Germany on Annapurna Circuit after Febr. 15th, 2014?
http://www.sardogsnepal.asia/news/recent-missing-cases

He did not leave any itinerary and had only TIMS for 5 days. He missed his plane back home.
He started a small trekking tour on AC area on Febr. 15th morning in Besisahar.
He was seen last time (as we know so far) on Febr. 15th at noon at Bahundanda.

Maybe somebody met him in this area, or before that in Kathmandu or on bus to Dumre/ Besisahar? Did he talk with you where he wanted to trek? If you met him on the trek, did he talk with you what he wanted to do? Do you have any informations, feel free to contact us!

We will show on our Facebook-site an actuall map with the dates and points of last seen from tomorrow. This site is in German language, but the map is easy to read. https://www.facebook.com/RettungshundeNepal

regards,

Annapurna Circuit Trek ACT is a 16 days to 21 days trek in a loop and most people take a 3-week permit. Wondering why did he take TIMS permit for just 5 days? On day 1 he started his trek and reached Bahudanda which is just 1310m and is missing since then?

Nobody takes 5 days permit for trekking ACT, unless he is short of money and has a different plan.

I did some photo-editing to the above photo for easy reading.

Hi all.
Just to clear all kinds of possibilities, we will check all entry points at the Nepal border to India, too.
As I know, to enter India, one needs a visa from Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.
Could one get a visa for India directly at the border?
Otherwise, would it be possible to enter India on landway without visa/ without being controlled?
What is your experience?

Regards

The Border Security Guards cannot issue visas. India-Nepal share a huge border, so technically it is possible to cross over unchecked but if anyone goes through normal border control then they must have the correct papers.

Dear India-Mikers,

I want to let you know that the human remains of Umit have been found yesterday in the Annapurna area.

May he rest in peace.

Sympathies to his family and friends. That is such sad news but wish them and you the strength to bear the loss. I second Julia's sentiment. We appreciate your kindness to keep us informed.
