Travelling from Kathmandu to Calcutta. Help PLEASE

Im having a hard time finding good information on how i should go about travelling from Kathmandu in Nepal to Calcutta. I'm willing to go by surface or flying. Preferably by buses/trains, because i want to stop in Varanasi and Bodgaya on the way to Calcutta.

If anyone knows anything would be greatly appreciated if you could share it.

From Kathmandu go by bus to the border at Bhairawa/Sunauli and from there again by bus to Gorakhpur and then train to Varanasi - Bihar - Kolkata. Another option is to take a bus from Kathmandu to Varanasi but cannot advice you because it is a bit like a nightmare.

hi Ashley
1. Kathmandu to Kolkata --direct Flight
2 Kathmandu to Varanasi - Direct flight
3. Varanasi to Bodh Gaya- By Trains( always travel in AC and avoid night jouney) or Bus,( take a package tour from Varanasi ) available in tourist season ie. Oct To March, best time to visit Bodh Gaya is December. always book hotel in advance in Bodh Gaya in tourist season
4. Take Rajdhani Express from Bodh Gaya to kolkata, other Trains also available.
