I was in Nepal in March and the situation in Kathmandu is normal. The rebels seem to leave the tourists areas alone but lets hope it stays that way.

Have a nice trip.

week in nepal

The security situation is fine at the moment (for tourists anyway!!) but travel by bus is very slow as thre are a lot of checkpoints. I left 4 days ago, had a great time, but i reckon if you've only got a week it will make it tough going, plus it's not a very good time weather wise (monsoon) and you won't see any mountains..

A week in kathmandu and around would still be great though, just be prepared to sweat it out on buses!!

Post Be aware

I posted yesterday a thread that Jet Airways and Sahara have suspended flights from India (Delhi) to Nepal (Kathmandu). Some dispute with Indian Civil Authority not so much the situation in Nepal. You may want to check this all out further because your travels are in June.
