Sylhet to Shillong route

Hi, I am currently in Dhaka and need to leave to renew my passport. I was planning on visiting Srimongal and from there crossing the border at Dawki and maybe heading to Shillong, but I don't know the best means of transportation. Any advice? Are there local buses in Srimongal which go to the border? I know from there it should be relatively easy to catch a bus to Shillong, no? Mahmud, any advice on the best way to get from Dhaka to Srimongal? Does Greenline's Dhaka-Sylhet route service Srimongal? Thanks for the help!

The best way to go Srimongol from Dhaka is to take bus from Arambag area. I found Shaymoli paribahn (Air con/non air con) bus is the best in this route. Just go to Motijheel Shpla circle, ture North & walk 100 meters, look at east side of the street, you will find Shaymoli paribahan counter. (Opposite to Notordame College).

From Srimongol you will find many buses to Sylhet (3 hours). From Sylhet you have to take bus again for Tomabil/Dauki.

By the way, if possible, please make me a phone call to hve a cup off tea. My cel number : 0171 4044498

My visit at this site is like a vacation sometimes. I have no helpful advice. But I remember Shillong as a kid and how beautiful it was. Even the taste of a red plum brings back memories of Shillong, since red plums grow all over the place there. Enjoy your visit!!
