Which airline are you travelling with? Are you landing in a country under shenegen visa? The cancellation charges depend on the type of ticket you are purchasing. If you are going to stay with friends get letters from them & attach those. The return ticket is a must & 2 one way tickets will be horribly expensive compared to a two way ticket. Do attach your bank statement & photocopy of your international credit card this is one thing you should have.

go by the book!
ive been to more than 14 EU countries and let me tell you that spanish visa's can be the trickiest! The best way is to get a copy of the list of doxs required and submit your application absolutely in line with the requirement & well in time( 3 weeks to be on safe side prior leaving). Good luck!

Hurakan,
I lived in Spain for some time, northern Spain in San Sebastian. One of my most memorable stays abroad. Travelling around Bilbao & visiting the monestaries, all the way to Santiago it was a great trip.

hi,
actually there is no such thing as a easy schengen visa and each country embassy is worse then the other when it comes to issuing visas,
if its the first time you are traveling abroad and have no visa stamps in your passport, its gonna make matters worse,
see to it that you don't ask for more than 1 months visa, as its your first time.
it would be gr8 if u can get some friend or acquintance from spain to send you a invitation letter, a notorised one as mentioned by you, otherwise you have to show hotel bookigns for actual days you intend to be there
u also need to submit your bank account (make sure there are atleast a couple of lakhs in it, minimum), 3 years income tax papers, employment leave, credit cards copies, a travel insurance policy, and a confirmed return ticket.
and i would suggest don't bother to apply thru any other shengen country ,
take a good travel agents help to avoid hassle, unnecessary delay, and have lots of patience.
best
mite.

The notarised letter costs at least 70 euros so be careful when you ask someone to get it done for you!!! HAHAHA!!!

I hope some members will reply as this is quite an old thread.
Need to know, how much money should you carry to Spain if you're going on a 5 days business visa.
Last time I went to Thailand, they ask you to have at least 10000 Baht in cash at the immigration counter. So is there a limit to minimum amount of money you should carry with you?
