Question Sikkim - Nepal

Could anyone tell me if there is a bus connection from Gangtok through Kakarbhitta to Kathmandu and how long this will take? Or this there a better possibility to get from Sikkim to Kathmandu? Thanks for any reply.

Hi Skinner,
You can't go straight from Sikkim to Nepal. I took a shared jeep back to Darjeeling, then another one to the border, walked across the border and caught a domestic flight to Kathmandu. You could also take a bus from the border to Kathmandu.

I flew from Bhadrapur to Kathmandu with Buddha Air. Take a seat on the right hand side in order to enjoy breathtaking views over the Himalaya !

Isabelle,
Did you take a jeep from the border to Bhadrapur? How far is it? It looks like quite a ways on my map.
Thanks,
Jane

I had booked the flight through an agency in Gangtok and they worked with an agency that is located right across the border. So, I walked to that agency and they organised a shared jeep to the airport. I think we drove for about an hour.
