i have heard a lot of positive stuff about travel in pakistan....sure i am aware that there are travel warnings issued for pakistan.....but then again..some of these warnings could just be paranoia as well.....
of course i would take any warning seriously, i know there are places that are dangerous, but i think those places are defined and off limits.....

i know that a lot of countries in the middle east and persian gulf do not accept israeli passports or passports with israeli stamps...i hears as well some airlines may not allow people to fly with them if they have israeli stamps in their passports as well.......
i understand that israelis are barred from traveling to pakistan...but i have not found anything mentioning travelers with the stamp in their passports

I have heard that this is impossible. Same goes for US passports issued in Israel, of course (like mine).

To those of you who have not yet been to Israel, and whose documents remain "untainted" - I understand that passport control in Israel will, if asked, place the entry stamp on a separate piece of paper to avoid problems in the future.

Of course, this can be a problem if you then cross the border into Egypt of Jordan (which is possible nowadays), since the Egyptian or Jordanian entry stamp can indicate that you entered from Israel ... these people are just too determined!

Can someone explain this to me? I dont get it..If we make a trip to Israel and then decide later on either few months or years later to visit Egypt...we wouldnt be allowed in? Does it matter what country you are a citizen of? Are Indian citizens allowed to do this? What about US citizens?

Why would they do that? So what do people do to avoid that? Make their Egypt/Jordan trip first and then head to Israel later? Wow thats really interesting, and I never knew before..

As far as I know it works, and I've never heard of it being a problem.

As you'll realize Israel has some serious issues with its neighbors and the Muslim world at large. I'm not passing judgment on it, just stating the facts. The Israelis at least are pragmatic enough about it to follow the above procedure.

Egypt and Jordan does not have a problem vith stamps from Israel and they also allows citisens of Israel. Most of the other middle east countries and some muslim countries does not allow visitors that has previously been to Israel.

Truth is, the story about:

Quote:

happened in Syria, which is not the most, well, reasonable country you can find.

Maybe other Muslim countries are not as exacting.

For the longest time, one could not get a visa to India if they had been to South africa. Basically this means that the country that denies the visa does not recognize the govt of the other country, has no diplomatic relationship with that govt or want to have any relationship with anyone who visits that country. Country are not required to gove visas just beecause one applies for it. Application can be rejected for any reason the consulate damn well pleases and no reasons need to be provided.
