North in the cold?

I'm arriving in Delhi in early February, and am hoping to head straight North east to the Nepalese and Tibet borders'. At this time of the year how feasible is it to make it to the areas around the borders? Any hints or info welcome,
Bree

It's not so much the weather, as the accessability of hill stations I was after. I've heard that at this time of the year its really dificult to get to certain areas due to snow etc.
Cheers.

Where exactly were you thinking of going?

You're only liable to get snowfalls in the mountains at over 8000 feet at that time of year. If you're going to Nepal, Pokhara can be pleasantly warm (about 2000 ft) and Kathmandu would be warm in the day and cool in the evenings. If you're planning to go anywhere near the Tibetan border then bring your thermals and winter woolies.

If you're planning to go trekking in Nepal though be prepared for snowfalls over 8000 ft.

If you're planning to go to some of the Indian hill stations they can occasionally have snowfalls at this time of year but main roads are cleared very quickly and the snow only lies around for a few days.
