Nepal, solo, 6 nights in May. Pokhara & short 4-day trek?

Hello, This is the first time I've Indiamike.

I am traveling on my own to Nepal in May and will have 6 nights in Pokhara. I would like to spend a day or more looking around a Pokhara but would also like to do a little trek for 4 days. Can anyone recommend a short trek that they have done or know of?

Thanks and happy travels to all !

Ghorepani trek - MAY 2008

Hi,

I'm doing a 6 day trek in Nepal in the middle of May. Can someone please tell me what clothing I should take with me? Are things like ski gloves, woolens, ski jacket necessary? Do you know what the temperature will be like during the day adn in the evenings?

Thanks in advance...

I spent a wonderfull time (october 2007)on a short trek near Pokhara. My guide Tika Ram Subedi took care off everything.
You can find him and his contact information on this link. You won't regret it for one minute.

You don't need a guide for the treks around Pokhara. Every few hours you come across a teashop with food and possible rooms to stay. And there's plenty of others doing it and good maps anyways of the region. As far a good 4 day trek, I think there's a trek they call the royal trek that takes around 3 day's that Prince Charles appearantly did years ago.

Thanks for that. Very informative site Bea.
I'm going to be doing the Ghorepani 6 day trek and have a couple of guides I might use. I will make sure they are locals so that my money is going towards them and not a large agency.Cheers
