Nepal OCT 2010

Hi I am planning for a tour (two persons,me and my wife) to Nepal in october 2010. I will be greateful if anybody answer these :

1.I reserved my berths in Mithila Ex and will be reaching Raxaul in the morning around 10.00 AM on 11-10-2010. I have heard that Birgunj to Kathmandu buses are available only in the morning and in the the evening, so I have to wait for the evening or night bus. Can you suggest me any other means so that I can reach Kathmadnu on the same day (taking a bus or Jeep as soon as I arrive at Birgunj).

2. Can anyone suggest me a good hotel in Kathmandu and Pokhra @INR500 per day for double bed attached bath NON A/C.

3.How much does approximately it costs for food for two persons per day in Nepal? Around INR250 / day?

4.How much does a sight seeing in kathmandu costs?

Hotel Moonlight Paknajol Thamel around Rs 500-600 per day Indian rupees
Gurkha Haven Guest House Damside Pokhara around Rs 600-700 per day
Both are reasonable and well maintained

You may need to do some bargaining with both as their tariff rates are more around Rs 800-1000 but they give discount if rooms are available

Hi Sujoy, hope you are doing well. Would you please tell me if Night buses are available (and safe?) from Pokhra to Bhairwaha? So that I can reach Bhairwaha early in the morning, croos the border to reach Sonauli and take a bus to reach Gorakhpur. I have berth reserved on Purvanchal Express which leaves Gorakhpur at 11.30.

Or shall I plan it in a different way?
