Wow, you've done detailed research for this trip. I don't know if it's feasible or what the budget should be, but I sure am impressed by this itinerary.

Did a travel agent make this up for you? How many people are going? Have you got all the Visa requirements sorted out?

ly expensive. Who told you this part is even feasible at less than, say, some GBP 3000? Please tell. I'll do it some day, but not at such a price.

The Lhasa train is comfortable enough, but to my taste boooooring. You'll for example find the same infinite desert views much cheaper and only marginally less comfortable, travelling from Ürümqi to Kashghar in Xinjiang, which is only 24 hours. Getting there costs a pound or two, though, but the alleys in mainly Turkic Kashghar/Kashi felt much more genuine than the little that's left of Tibetan culture in Lhasa.

we are 8 friends who have just finished our trip to Khardung la (july 2009)on bike.

so just planning for our next journey.

just gone through few travel sites to make this itenary.

can any one tell me if its feasible.

can any one tell me the visa procedures also.

Then why not to fly to shangai, catch this direct train to LAHASA from there 4500 km. i think this will save lots and lots of time and cheaper too.Why to involve Nepal Government in all this, why not to take china directly.
