Myanmar - India

I've heard that there is no land crossing over the boarder from Burma (Myanmar) into Assam. I find this hard to believe and my intention is to travel through Myanmar from Thailand and make it to India

Any help on this would be soooo welcome. Thanks

Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh have borders to Myanmar but you cannot cross.
What you can do is taking a flight from Yangoon to Dhaka (Biman Air). From Dhakka you can go by bus to Shillong in Meghalaya. Border is open near Cherrapunj. From Shillong it's a 3 to 4 hours drive by bus to Guwahati, the capital of Assam.

Also, I don't think it's possible to travel to Myanmar from Thailand by road either. (I know, you can make day trips from Northern Thailand, but these arn't official entry points).
