Is that that the takoyaki stall opposite Eikando? We like his dark takoyaki better than the light ones.

We visit there every Spring (sakura) and Fall (koyo). The young owner likes jazz violin music. We introduced him to Stéphane Grappelli.

Any seasonal attraction worth its salt has a row of food stalls at the entrance. This is Korantei.

The typical takoyaki banner at a food stall in Korantei.

And yes, rshalder, there's a little chunk of octopus in the center of each takoyaki. The octopus balls are very hot when served, and for the first few you want to take two bites. You have to decide whether to go for the chunk of octopus on the first bite or the second, then hope you get it right.

The takoyaki and the maker (equipment) bears an uncanny resemblence to an Indian dish. This dish is called Appe in Maharashtra, Paniyaram in Tamil Nadu and paddu in Karnataka. Very interesting - all vegetarian here. A photo taken from Indian Express below -

Winter sakura with red maple leaves in Obara

On November at Aichi, Obara district not so far from Nagoya there are

Shikizakura(winter cherry blossoms) which blooms once in spring

and again from end October to early December.

So if we go there on late november, we can see both maple that change the color and Sakura ....2 seasons in one time visited.
