Perhaps you could give more information.

What country is your passport? All visas depend on that for starters.

Are you planning on working there?

Do you have any connection with an NGO that could organize a long term type of Visa.

Just guessing, I would have to say you won't be able to just move there to live long term without having a good reason which would get you the right type of visa. I don't know of any countries that allow that!

Maybe you should consider staying in Cambodia? It seems to be the rare exception in Asia & elsewhere to stay easily & indefinitely.

Travel agents selling annual business visas? do you have to show any paperworkd that you have a business? That's truly amazing

I was in Cambodia for just a few days as a tourist & they hassled the crap out of us at the airport, making this big show of paging through every page of our passport & being extremely surly acting. Once in Siem Reap, however, everyone was delightful.

On the Cambodia website it says that tourist & business visas are only good for one month for US citizens. That we can extend it once we are there but it doesn't say for how long.

Good luck with figuring this out! Since there are many expats in Nepal, I'm sure there must be a way to make it your home. Maybe someone besides me will find your post & have an answer for you. Or maybe some googling will help.
