Kathmandu to Varanasi

Hi, I am arriving in Kathmandu at end August and want to travel overland to Varanasi and then on to Delhi, can anyone tell me hows best way to get to Varanasi? Is there a direct bus or will i need to change? Then i was looking at getting an overnight train to Delhi?

I did it a few months ago. Not exactly from Kathmandu to Varanasi but to Lucknow which is pretty close. There is a bus to Varanasi that I had also thought of using so I know that it operates from Nepal to India. The bus is not the same and you have to change the bus at the border but it is all arranged by the same tour operator and they also put you up in a hotel for the night which is included in the cost. The cost is not too much and though the journey is not too comfortable as a train journey at least you don't have to go through different modes of transport like if you take the train then you need to go to the Sonauli Border and then cross over into India on foot and then take a bus to the closest railhead Gorakhpur from where you can get a train to Varanasi.
