Information about muktinath required

Hi,
Can anybody provide some information about Muktinath. I have heard that it is now possible to visit Muktinath by road. Any idea about the time and money it takes? Is there any article on this in IM..?

Thanks,

Don't tell me.... can't be true, unless and only if it's from Jomsom via Kagbeni - anyhow you'll have to walk or fly in isn't it?

It is not a blacktop but a rough kachha road. Takes about two hours by jeep from Jomsom to Muktinath and I think it costs about NC 800 per seat one way. This is as of May 2009.

Someone or some several must have broken up a jeep, hauled it up from Pokhara and put it together again??

Actually I visited Tourism Mela in Kolkata and there I overheard a travel agent was discussing regarding Muktinath by road and charging 15000 INR for the tour from Pokhra. I am not sure if its only the vehicle cost or anything else is covered, though,he was insisting on helicopter ride as its less hazardous.
But I think a jeep safari is more thrilling compared to copter ride (I dont have much time for trek to Muktinath- only 10 days total). So I was curious if its actually possible and is 15000/- is a good bergain.

Now its possible to go to Jomsom by road, it requires a 4x4 only and takes 5 hours. The road is via beni near baglung (2 Hours from pokhra). Taxi's are not allowed on this route and the vehicle has to be pvt registered.
