Indian Visas Abroad: Attention Overlanders!

Right, I've been continuing my research for the big trip, so I thought I'd share some useful info on getting Indian visas in neighbouring countries.

Please note that all this info is second-hand, gained from various guide-books, forums, and other travellers, and is ALWAYS subject to change.

Pakistan: Diplomatic Enclave, Islamabad - 051 2206950
In theory, a 6-month multiple entry visa should be issued in 2-5 working days. However, I've heard they'd rather only give 3-month visas, and need to be pressured. Try turning up every day for a week.
Need more info regarding this!

Iran: 46 Miremad Ave, Tehran - 021 875 5103 5
www.indianembassy-tehran.com
9am-12noon for application, 2pm-4pm for collection.
alternatively, and handy for overlanders.......
Imam Khoimeini St, Zahedan - 0541 322 2337
Visas issued in 5 working days, IR 370,000 (roughly 37 EURO)

Uzbekistan: A Tolstoy 3, Tashkent - 1338267
9.30am-noon
Takes a minimum of 7 working days,
6-month multiple entry US$70 for US citizens, not sure about other nationalities.

Kyrgyzstan: Chuy 164A, Bishkek - 21 08 62
2pm-4pm
Should issue in 5 working days.
6-month multiple entry 1835som for US citizens (roughly US$45), 1105som for most others (roughly 21 EURO)

Afghanistan: Interior Ministry Road, Shahre-naw, Kabul - 020 2200133
9am-noon Mon-Thu
Should be no problem, 6-month multiple entry in 24 hours, at US$65.

Would love to have more info regarding Islamabad (anyone?) and Istanbul.

Also, this only covers west-east travellers. If anyone has information regarding other surrounding countries (China/Burma/Bangladesh/Thailand etc.), please post here. I feel Nepal and Sri Lanka have already been covered extensively on the site, and do not need any further comments.

For info on Pakistan visas in Central Asia, look here.

Cheers!

Conor.

P.S. any corrections welcome
