Indian Visa in Islamabad

Hi folks,

I've asked on Volga Volga's forum, and the Thorn Tree (got the usual, 'use the search engine' replies

), but still haven't been able to get an answer from someone with first-hand experience.

How much time for an Indian visa in Islamabad? Are there any complications that I'd need to know about? Any info, as ever, very welcome.

Is it even issuing visas? Is the office even staffed? Are consular relations between India and Pakistan fully restored?

All true, mala. But the political classes are always the last to respond to the obvious will of the people.

Indian visas issued in Pakistan (and vice versa) have been a dicey subject for decades (sometimes they're available, sometimes not). And the offices are hugely overburdened, often with people affected by partition, who are trying to visit relatives or claim property--and they have been standing in line, quite literally, for fifty years.

The thing is, I've 'heard' reports of people getting them, it's always a 'friend of someone I know's brother', just love to hear someone's first-hand experience, it would be reassuring.
