Indian - Bhutan bordertown Phuentsholing
Does anybody know if it is still possible to visit the Indian/Bhutan bordertown Phuentsholing without a visa ?? Somebody told me that the free city policy had been revoked in January 2005. Is this the truth ?
So if it is still possible, for how long i can stay in Phuentsholing ?? Just a few hours or maybe the whole day ? Can i stay overnight there ? Are there no problems when i leave Bhutan and enter India again (with the same single entry indian visa) ?? Thanks. |

Couple of yesrs ago I went there. As far as I remember, for foreigners, it is mandatory to have Multiple visa to back from Bhutan. As we had no multiple visa, we received visa from Indian Embassy in Kathmundu. So, please check more.

hello
the last thing i heard when i was near bhutan(three week ago), you can enter bhutan to visit Phuentsholing, but you have to leave before 22:00pm. if you would like to stay longer in Bhutan you need to pay us$200 per day and get an visa, but there is another option, to get invited by an Bhutanees citizen in that case you can stay longer and do not have to pay the us$200 per day. are you sure you have a single entry visa for india? cause the most people i met here in India have an multiple enty visa, without asking for it at the ambassy. i hope i helped you a bit (sorry for my bad english) |
