India to Myanmar
Hi All;
Is there anyone knows that is it possible to enter from india to Myanmar with motorbike? And what kind of documents we need? |

I do not think it is possible the border is closed ! I have heard odd rumors but unsubstantiated .

Thanks for your answer. I just called Myanmar embassy in Delhi and they told me that it is not allowed by road to enter myanmar, but it is possible to go with plane. So i should find another way to go on Thailand.
Do you have any idea about going from india to thailand by boat? |

Bringer of bad news again ,to the best of my knowledge no direct ferry India/Thailand .I have heard that sometimes it is possible to get a boat from Chennai or Kolkata to the Andaman & Nicobar islands and then fly into Thailand ,have heard of this being done once !! Best bet fly from India .

understood. But i have a bike with me which is 180 kilograms. With plane it costs me too much. Do you have an idea about plane cargo in india? |

If you have a lot of time and money on your hands, you could drive the bike to China via Pakistan or Nepal/Tibet, then down to Laos and on to Thailand. Would be a great trip.

Are you sure that is it possible to enter china with motorbike and alone? My friend in China told me that i cant take visa alone, i just could take group touristic visa with an agency.

Generally speaking, the borders of the countries in the NE corner of the subcontinent are disputed and militarized and sometimes home to rebel and secessionist organizations. People, weapons, and drugs flow across them, despite efforts by the governments to seal their borders. Thus, it's problematic for travelers to cross them. So you have to fly to the capitals.
