India - Sri Lanka by boat

I know there is no official ferry any longer from India to Sri Lanka.

I'm guessing that there must be legal, but not widely advertised routes from India to fly speck, and then from fly speck to Sri Lanka.

Can anyone advise?

You can ask the fishermen in Rameswaram to take you over in a trawler under cover of darkness--but this would be, technically, illegal.

Seriously, the only legal way of going across is on a commercial flight.

Why not arrack, the love of a wheatish, convent-educated, caste-no-barring homely girl, and some frequent flyer miles on Jet Airways?

I am enraptured by Merchant's image but prefer slightly darker shade (married one). One other possibility is a yacht out of Chennai. Long time ago, before I was married, I noticed SL gals could give anyone a run for the money in the way of looks..

Get real kid. What everyone is saying is that there is no such way! If caught the penalties would be enormous assuming you werenot killed in the process. The civil war has consumed 70,000 odd lives so far..

The Indian and Sri Lankan navies might even co-operate to sink your boat!

Ah, jerking our chain! Yeh, yeh they love criminals and will welcome you with open arms. Remember each sailor on the ship has to get chai-pani money and officers get Johney Walker scotch, captain gets 2 bottles..

Avoiding immigration controls is criminal, and we will not carry such advise, even if anyone does have it to offer.

Please do not ask again or your account will be closed.
