India-Nepal, in by air out by land border crossing?

Hi
Does anyone know if there is any problem with booking a one way flight from Delhi to Kathmandu (we are british although not sure that makes a difference)and then leaving Nepal via a land border crossing or do you have to enter and leave by the same method?

Can't see any reference to this being a problem but don't want to commit to a flight until sure.

Haven´t done this , but I have crossed the border twice in recent years , and Nepal is not interested in proof of return journey : they want your photo and thirty dollars ,period, and they are happy to have them when you turn up at the border.

Edit : actually I´ve done the reverse thing : in overland , flew out , which I hadn´t decided when I went in.

I went in by bus from Varanasi (gruelling, don't do it) and flew out - few years ago now, but I doubt if this concern is warranted.
