Question Changri La (Shangri La) pass

Hi everybody!

I am going to do some trekking in Everest region next spring and want to include Changri La pass in my route.

However, I have no information about the pass except the label on the map.

Does anybody have photos or description or any information about the pass?

Thanks in advance,
K.

I will lead a small group of friends. The only time we took a guide (winter Mt. Ararat in Turkey) we had to let him go away on the second day, since the guy was completely exhausted :-)

I've never heard of Changri La Pass, in the Everest region. What's the elevation of this pass?

There is 5420m Cho La Pass (or Chhugyuma Pass) between Gokyo to Pheriche in the Everest region.

It is marked on the map to the west from Mt. Changri and Kala Patthar. The elevation is 5802 according to the map.

It's a remote Pass and it is north of Cho La Pass. It's not mentioned in the usual 'Nepal Trekking' routes, and for that elevation, I guess it requires some climbing skills and other paraphernalia.

You'll find couple of pictures of Changri La in IndiaMike member 'Per' website.
Good luck.

I possess both, so it is not a problem. I just want to know what exactly I should be prepared for :-)

Thanks for the link to the photos!
