| Bhutan: Need advice for 7/8 day trip in July Mod note: Moved to create new thread I am planning a 7/8 day trip to Bhutan starting from the 10th/11th of July and have a few questions? 1.) I am an Indian national and am presently in Kolkata for an internship. I have a Gujarat state driving license with me and alternatively I can ask my parents to mail me my PAN card but I do not have a voter's ID card and my passport expired recently. Will any of these two documents suffice as a valid identity proof? 2.) Which are the places in Bhutan which require a permit to visit them? 3.) I am planning to travel to Siliguri via train and enter Bhutan from Phuntsheling and visit at least Paro, Thimpu, Punakha and Bumthang valley. Will it be better if I exit from Samdrup Jongkar and catch the return train from Guwahati or should I travel back to Phuntsheling? I do not want to spend most of my time travelling to and fro the same route in Bhutan. 4.) Is it advisable to cover Bhutan on a motorcycle in this season? If yes then is it possible to rent a bike from Phuntsheling? Are there any permit charges if the bike is from Bhutan itself? Would it be better to get an Indian bike? (In this case I will be forced to enter and exit from Phuntsheling) Thanks a lot in advance for the help. I would post a few more questions as and when they pop up in my mind.
