Best way to get from Lhasa to Varanasi
Hi,
Need some info on the best way to get from Lhasa to Varanasi,preferably by air. If I do a stopover in Kathmandu do I need a visa ? This would be in September...about the 18th Thanks in advance fro your help, musicgap  |

I just came back from Lhasa to Lucknow (India) via Kathmandu by flight (China Air) and then by road to Lucknow via the Sonauli border (Nepal/India). You may go from Kathmandu to Varanasi by bus with a halt at the border for a night included for free by the bus trip company. You will require a visa for Nepal if you are not an Indian citizen. Hope this helps.

Does that mean (in the interest of saving some time)that I can't get a flight from Lhasa to Varanasi or Kathmandu to Varanasi? musicgap |

That's great but you cannot fly to Varanasi from Kathmandu on the days the flight comes in from Lhasa, you will have to stopover in Nepal and will require a visa as the flight is only after one day or on the next day if you take the flight on Sunday.
