Agra -> Gorakhpur -> Saunali -> Lumbini -> Pokhara

Hi Folks,

I'm visiting Agra on Dec 14 and I've decided to extend my trip to Pokhara from there.

Here is my itinerary. I'd really appreciate any information / recommendations regarding the trip from more experienced travelers who have been in these places.

DAY 1
1) Agra => Gorakhpur by train taking:
a) either Vaishali Express/2554 departs 11:15 PM arrives 09:15 AM
b) or Amritsar Katihar Express/5708 06:33 PM arrives 05:50 AM

DAY 2
2) Gorakhpur => Saunali by bus
I couldn't google any relevant information about Saunali. It's only reffered as somewhere at Nepalis border. Does it exist at all?

How long it will take to get there from Gorakhpur?

3) Saunali => Lumbini by bus / taxi?
I'd like to see a Lumbini and eventually stay over there, depends on what time I will arrive there from Saunali.

How long it will take from Gorakhpur through Saunali to get there?

Any experience with staying over there? Can you recommend any addresses?

DAY 3
4) Lumbini => Pokhara by bus?

How long will it take to get there?
Do I have to return back to Saunali first?


And, is it doable at all to get to Pokhara in winter?
What kind of wetaher should I expect there? I checked some weather sites and the weather should be bearable, just a bit chilly during nights.

Any other thoughs on this are highly appreciated!

yeah sanauli is in nepal border. you need to travel from gorakhpur to sonauli by bus and at sanuli you need to cross the border and from the other side you can get the buses to lumbini. or else taxi would be beter.
check the climate as its chilling cold in december and in january
at the border be sure you show them the passport and valid indian visa
