10 Waterfalls of Daraniyagala - Sri Lanka

Have you even seen 10 water falls with in 5 kilometers? I did! Last week at Daraniyagala 2 hours drive from Colombo. From there i took a local bus to a village called Maliboda.

From the seven water falls three of them are close to Maliboda. To see the other 7 one has to go on foot to a small village called Bambaragala, 3 kilometers away from Maliboda. There is a jeep track, which can only be mastered witha a 4X4, but still you can talk a walk, through the tea plantation.

First 2 water falls of the 7 can be seen from Bambaragala village. To see the rest you got to walk along the stream and thick forest. I climbed all may way up with the help of a village lad. At the very top, right next to the 7th fall there is an ideal spot for camping. It is the most exiting camping night i ever had, listening to the sound of the water, under millions of starts on the top of a mountain 5 hours walk away from any human being except my companion!
