Isn't that a bit like having to clean your own table in a restaurant?
You pay, and then have to clean up after yourself? Anyway, not my scene, as one look at me would reveal!

Nick, it's an interesting analogy and, yes, a bit like going to a restaurant table that was never cleaned up from the previous diners. Because synergy is such an important aspect in the exercise regime, it is just far more efficient (and hygenic) to quickly clean your own bodily fluid after use of a busy bench/machine - it only takes a second to wipe it off! If everybody pulls their own weight and does their part the gym works like clock work.
Yes, even at the Hyatt where they have a large staff - the sticky situation still happens due to volume of patrons & machines. I suggested that they leave a cleansing spray-nozzled bottle beside each workout station like they do in the west - in order to initiate the cleaning regiment which they did for a while. This makes it easier to disinfect the area rather than wipe the other persons sweat directly with your own towel should a spotter/employee not be present.... but the idea/hint never caught on with local users.

Your absolutely right - it might be viewed along the same lines as an 'untouchable job'
..... and therefore the 'common courtesy' reasoning/assumption will always get trumped & never cross their minds.![]() |

Just saw a news clip on Gender specific gyms and how they are becoming more & more popular - especially with the ladies. They want to workout and not worry about distractions and/or men grunting & groaning amidst the heavy weight-lifting process, muslim women can take of their scarfs &, on a whole, they can chat and offer support to each other about their physical goals/objectives more openly.
