Adihere,
This scheme is perfect, hats off to the Byrraju Foundation. Tourism is one sorely neglected aspect of this state and there is no better way to propagate it for AP, while aiming to improve the lives of the local pouplace. For wildlife, what I'd love to see is eco-tourism along the lines of what has been done in Karnataka by the Jungle Lodge Resorts, in conjunction with the Karnataka Government and Forest Department. When overseen by the Foundation, this should provide sorely needed means to families living in these areas, while giving us city slickers a choice to head out for weekend getaways. Other than Srisailam, places that come to mind are: Rollapadu Kolleru Kawal and so on... The idea would be to aid the wildlife conservation effort by promoting controlled tourism in these eco-sensitive areas, as well as community devlopment. Coastal areas of scenic value can be uplifted in a similar fashion. And yeah, Konaseema is beautiful! Cheers! |

This is a really good concept, i'm visiting india over the summer, and i'd really like to come by and visit the villages if the facilities have been set up. Please let us know how far the project has progressed.
